← Renewing Hope Research Sub-Theme

Audacious Hope

As the pillars of democracy crumble across the globe, big and small actions of resistance prop up hope and keep alive a way to rebuild. Nowhere is such hope more evident than India, long celebrated as the world’s largest democracy, where the institutions, values and practices of democracy have come under assault for over a decade. Audacious hope documents the struggles waged by ordinary Indians against the creeping authoritarianism of their polity.
