Rethinking
Global Order
The rise of new powers strains the west-led global order that framed world politics for over two centuries. Capitalism, the socio-economic order that spurred the rise of the west, has been appropriated by these new powers, thus transcending its Euro-American heartland, and undergoing profound mutations. To many, this trend is profoundly unsettling. To others, it is an intimation of a new way of life. Yet others think of this time as an interregnum, when the old is dying and the new is yet to be born. How can we rethink global order in these unsettled times?
